EVERYONE DESIGNS AND BUILDS AT THEIR BEST, BUT THE UNEXPECTED IS ALWAYS AROUND THE CORNER...

The adoption of a humidity monitoring system such as MyMeter on wooden buildings, in the first place could be interpreted as a lack of trust towards technicians (designer and DL) and the construction company.

The facts show, however, that a monitoring system like MyMeter is not only not an alternative to good build, but must be understood as a support tool, that accompanies the manufacturer and designers in the years of responsibility for their work towards the house and follows the customer even more than 10 years warranty on the building.

This case history clearly shows how, although both the designer and the company are experts in wood construction, the events that could lead to the presence of moisture in the walls could depend on completely random factors, occasional and out of control also of the best constructor enterprise.

SESTO FIORENTINO: AN EXAMPLE OF HOW MYMETER WORKS AND ENSURES THE HEALTH OF THE STRUCTURE

About two years after the installation of the MyMeter monitoring system on the multi-storey X LAM building in Sesto Fiorentino in April 2020, the sensor no 7 showed higher wood moisture values than the safety ones.

At the observation there was no anomaly either inside or outside and in the following months, this moisture value gradually decreased.

In October 2020, the System detected a new alarm for exceeding the threshold that required a deepening with the aim of identifying the cause of humidity.

The document tells the phase of investigation and the analysis of the causes of the problem.
